a wild garden for a wild landscape
[unrealised]
A garden for a new house on the edge of the Ashdown Forest.
Traditionalists will say that a garden should transition from manicured and man made near the house, to wild and untamed near the boundaries. But with a landscape this wild, any heavy handed formality will only detract from the surroundings. We want the essence of the wilderness to reach right up to the doorstep. But we still want it to be a usable and enjoyable space to occupy, so the elements we do insert will be minimal, and sensitive to the surroundings. The minimal interventions will frame the wild landscape. Order amongst nature.
